Cookies and analytics
The site works without cookies. It asks first, with the cookie banner of Kansleri Cookie Consent (the plugin this site is about), and sets only the cookie that remembers your choice unless you allow more. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Your choice
The banner stores your choice in the cookie kncc_consent for up to one year, so it does not ask on every page. The banner also keeps a consent log in this site’s own database, to show that a choice was made: an identifier that cannot be turned back into your IP address, your choice, the categories you allowed and the time. The log is deleted after 13 months. The legal basis is our legal duty to be able to show that consent was given (the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules).
Analytics
If you allow analytics, the site loads Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, which count visits: the pages you open, your approximate location (country and city), your device and browser, how you found the site and how long you stay. Nothing is loaded from Google before you allow it. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_JYZ0N3SBXR, which last up to two years. Google signals (the link to Google accounts for advertising) is switched off, and we send Google no names or email addresses. Google Analytics deletes detailed event data after 2 months and data tied to a cookie after 14 months; reports that hold no personal data stay. The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time; withdrawing does not affect processing done before.
Google acts as our service provider (processor). It may process the data outside the EU and EEA, in the United States among other places; those transfers rely on Google’s data processing terms, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Hosting
The site is hosted by alwaysdata, a hosting company based in France. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, the host processes technical data that every browser sends, such as the IP address, browser type and the address of the page requested. The host acts as our service provider; its own privacy policy describes how it handles this data.
If you email us, we use your name, email address and message only to answer you, and keep them as long as the matter needs. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering messages.
The plugin does not send us data
Using the Kansleri Cookie Consent plugin on your own WordPress site sends no data to us. Consent records and settings stay in your own database.
Links to other sites
This site links to other services, such as WordPress.org and Ko-fi. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Finland, that is the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi (opens in a new tab)). Contact us by email to use your rights.

If the site starts to use new services, this policy is updated first. The date at the top shows the latest version.
